Meet Meghna

I am a visionary leader and changemaker in sustainability, environmental advocacy, and social impact. With a proven track record of implementing transformative initiatives, I am committed to creating sustainable solutions that balance environmental stewardship, social equity, and economic growth.

As the Chief Sustainability and Economic Development Officer at The University of Texas at Arlington, I lead efforts to integrate sustainability into the university’s operations, academics, and community engagement. My work has earned national recognition for advancing climate action, resource conservation, and innovative sustainability programs. I am passionate about developing strategic partnerships and fostering cross-sector collaboration to tackle some of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges.

Beyond the university setting, I have founded several impactful programs and initiatives that have empowered communities and organizations to adopt sustainable practices. My expertise spans climate resilience, environmental policy, UN SDGs, energy transition, public policy, equitable food systems, transportation, economic development, and innovation.

As a sought-after speaker and mentor, I have inspired countless individuals and organizations through my dedication to environmental advocacy and my ability to turn ideas into actionable outcomes. I believe that true progress lies in inclusivity and the collective effort to build a better future for all. One of my greatest strengths is establishing complex multi-stakeholder engagements and relationships.

I hold an MBA in Sustainable Management, an MS in Environmental Science, and an MS in Chemistry.

When I’m not driving sustainability efforts, I enjoy cooking, traveling, and listening to podcasts.
